Singh, Moni (1901-1990) radical politician, a founding leader of the Communist Party of Bangladesh. Moni Singh was born in Kolkata on 28 July 1901 and grew up at Susang-Durgapur in the then Mymensingh district (now Netrokona). After completing his primary education he went to Kolkata for pursuing secondary education. There he joined Anushilan Dal, an armed revolutionary group (1914).
