About Death Anniversary


Dhaka, Dec 31 (BDNEWS) – The 15th anniversary of death of CPB leader Comrade Moni Singh was observed Saturday in Dhaka and across the country, including his birthplace in Durgapur in Netrakona.


The Communist Party of Bangladesh and its front organizations held different programmers to recall the contributions of the great leader. Moni Mela , the five-day annual fair name after Moni Singh – began Saturday at Durgapur in Netrakona.

The program attended by communist party leaders and people from different areas of district. Leaders and local people will place wreaths at the Tong Memorial that commemorates the supreme sacrifices of people in the Tong movement was launched by Moni Singh to realize the rights of landless people.

In the morning, floral wreaths were placed at Tonko Shaheed Smriti Stambha in the town and a colourful procession, participated by hundreds, marched through the main streets of the town. 


Dr Dibalok Singh, also the only son of the late leader, will conduct a charity eye camp from December 31 to January 5 at the fair venue.

A total of 400 stalls have been set up at the fair. A large number of local people from all classes of life including Kurda Nree Gustee people are visiting the fair in the opening day.
